Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) has once again become the proud host for ASC 2023. Since its debut as a host in 2017, UNITEN has selected UNITEN Accounting Club (UNAC) to be responsible for upholding this prestigious event. The Accounting Student Conference (ASC) was initiated by MIA in 2006 which in line with the Institute’s commitment to the development and advancement of the accounting profession in Malaysia. This year, UNITEN would proudly take this opportunity to host the ASC 2023 with the theme “Diving into a Professional Realm “.

The ASC 2023 which will be conducted virtually with the theme of “Diving into Professional Realm” is anticipating over 500 students from various universities in Malaysia. The theme is significant since integrity and professionalism are vital to be inculcated among accounting professionals to ensure the sustainability and stability of the nation. Through this conference, it will be a great platform and alternative to expose accounting students to the fundamental ethics of professional behaviour as a professional accountant. The inspiration and experiences of the qualified speakers in regard to professionalism can give a heads-up and encouragement to students on how they can use their skills and knowledge in the accounting field to apply this professional behaviour as a practice that will be beneficial to them in the future.

Objectives

To equip students with knowledge as to what is required in every professional accountant.
To instill the importance of lifelong learning spirit in students, which is crucial in the demanding market.
To give out the exposure and self-realisation in what is needed to be able to be successful in the industry.
